Gay Bars & Clubs in le Marais

Gay bars in Le Marais are part of the entertainment, they all own a different design, always busy, some of them disappeared in the past 5 years due to the incredidible rise of genuine estate prices in the Marais. They are often replaced by chic boutiques that makes a strange mixity. Still the Marais keeps its soul and we, at PARISMARAIS support the global diversity of the area. After the covid crisis, more bars have closed down, but many are resisting, some trying to seduce a new clientele.

Size matters - and timetable matters too! People don't travel to the alike places at the same time, so be sure to follow our recommendations for the right time  to proceed out.

Paris is a European capital for all things lgbtq+ and fabulous, from extravagant local personalities to a neighborhood teeming with addresses for a night of cavorting. The Marais, centrally-located just north of the Hôtel de Ville and south of the Place de la République, is the epicentre for nightlife catering to boys and men of all walks, but it’s just the beginning. Starting an evening in or around the Marais is the foremost way to find out from the locals what’s going on in other gay bars around town. Whether you’re looking to share casual drinks, gyrate until dawn, or include a brush with a local Parisian, there’s playfulness to be had any night of the week.

Paris gay nightlife

Paris gay nightlife is vivid, lively and exciting. The main gay area is called Le Marais. This area is very central and is in the 4th arrondissement. It's situated  between Le Louvre museum and Place de la Bastille.

Bars usually open at the beginning of the afternoon or around 5pm and close at two o'clock in the morning. Some can be open until morning by a special license.

Most well-known bars in Le Marais are Clear Cafe (lots of tourists), the Raidd Bar (with strippers in a shower) and Cox Prevent. After a five minutes amble from Le Marais towards the Centre Pompidou and Les Halles, you'll find another bunch of gay bars, like the Banana Café.
