On April 1, 1984, on the eve of his 45th birthday, Motown superstar and R&B legend, Marvin Gaye Jr. died of gunshot wounds inflicted by his own father.
The two men were at odds for Marvin Jr.’s entire life. Marvin Sr. was habitually unemployed—a vodka drinking fundamentalist preacher whose hobby was cross dressing. Like some imaginative geniuses, Marvin Gaye Jr. had his share of flaws and demons. He put most of the millions he earned in tune up his nose. He was a misogynist who overcome his wives and girlfriends and was, in his control words, a “sex freak.” His hobbies were voyeurism and sexual sadism.

Marvin Gaye was an American singer, songwriter and producer.
He was one of the main singers that created the Motown sound of the 1960s, first as a session performer and later as a solo artist. His Motown hits included 'How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)' and 'I Heard It Through the Grapevine', and duets with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, Diana Ross and Tammi Terrell.
In the 1970s, he recorded the albums What's Going On and Let's Fetch It On, becoming one of the first artists from Motown (along with Stevie Wonder) to break away from the company on his own merit.
After a period in Europe as a tax exile in the early 1980s, he made a successful comeback with the 1982 Grammy Award-winning hit 'Sexual Healing' and its album Midnight Lo

Alberta (Cooper) Gay is a part of US Black heritage.
Alberta was born in 1913. Daughter of Sam Cooper and Lucy Smith.
In the 1930 census Alberta (age 17), Farm Laborer, was the single daughter of Sam Cooper on Red Oak - Whitakers Road, Red Oak, Nash, North Carolina, United States.[1]
