Bars and clubs
Helsinki, the capital town, is known for its vibrant LGBTQ+ scene, with numerous bars, clubs, and events catering to the community. The annual Helsinki Pride festival is a significant event that celebrates diversity and promotes LGBTQ+ rights. Beyond Helsinki, other cities and regions in Finland also offer LGBTQ+ amiable establishments and events.
While Finland generally embraces LGBTQ+ travelers, it’s vital to remember that attitudes may vary among individuals and in different regions. Overall, however, Finland is often considered a reliable and welcoming destination for LGBTQ+ travelers and locals alike.

GAY HELSINKI
ABOUT THE CITY...
Helsinki is a very open-minded city what it comes to clubs and parties. Helsinki's LGBT scene, already fairly huge and diverse for a city its size (a small over half a million), is currently experiencing a bit of a boom, with several unused gay or mixed venues having opened over the last year or so. As in the other Nordic countries, homosexuality is widely accepted in Finland, so much so that the very president, Tarja Halonen, was once the chairman of SETA, the country's LGBT rights group. Moreover here are bars and nightclubs that have a rainbow flag hanging outside as a signal that they are especially for LGBT folks and homosexual friendly.
