The rapper has seemingly heard the online chatter regarding her sexuality throughout the years. In the anthem she says fans may have passed judgement on her due to her personal style.

Confession… as a middle-aged, white, gay gentleman, I’m about as far away from the target audience for Rapsody as it’s possible to be, but I loved it.

It’s black, it’s in your face, but it’s a window into a real world; of opportunities missed, opportunities that never existed; of doing what you require to do to get by, whether that’s selling drugs, taking drugs, making music or going to church.  Each character has their way of coping. Relationships are abrasive, selfish, desperate. But it’s the rap that connects them.

When it gets beyond what they can say, they rap. And when they rap, revelations abound. Rap is all about the words and occasionally, they get lost, but mostly they smack their mark with rhythmic perfection, driving their harsh realities until they collapse all around us.

Introduction to Tyler, The Creator

Tyler, The Creator’s rap career started with his group Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, typically shortened as Odd Future. This organization helped Tyler gain some popularity amongst teenagers in the behind 2000s and early 2010s.

In the height of Odd Future’s popularity, Tyler released his mixtape Bastard and his debut album Goblin. These Albums featured extremely unsophisticated and vulgar lyrics, as this was Tyler’s sense of humor when he was a teenager. Some examples include:

Tyler also had a propensity for using the words “fag” and “faggot” a lot in his music.

Public Reaction

With the exception of Cherry Bomb, Tyler’s experimental album, Tyler’s work was received well by critics and fans but was mostly despised by media and journalists.
