Key and peele gay wedding advice

Key and Peele’s Same-sex attracted Wedding Advice Has Me Howling

Key and Peele are geniuses. I love them so much because they’re fearless in their humor but still incredibly smart and thoughtful. You gotta see their sketch on the mad names of football players. They’re truly everything that makes comedy important.

I saw a sketch from them is about a family who is about to life its first same-sex attracted wedding. So they wanted to construct sure they knew all they could about how those go and they ask a coworker to come college them on the logistics. What ensues is complete utter hilarity, and with some dope actors (like Lance Riddick, Romany Malco, Vernee Watson-Johnson).

Just watch.

I couldn’t interrupt laughing about one thing before the next line made me cackle prefer a hyena. The dude with the notepad, though. He was so prepared to learn.

“Cousin Delroy’s getting married. To a man. Which is crazy.” *everybody nods*

“As an active member of the gay community…”

“None of us are gay so I would suppose we would all sit in the straight section.”

“So when in the ceremony do we hum Over the Rainbow?”

Key & Peele Explain What Straights Should Expect at a Lgbtq+ Wedding

As we continue the battle for marriage equality, it can be easy to forget that everyone who expresses confusion about gay marriage—the wedding ceremony in particular—is not necessarily homophobic. In fact, it’s good to remeber that the wedding, as a ritual that comes caked in fairly conservative, gender-based traditions favor “giving away the bride,” is bound to cause some dissonace for even supportive family and friends when the couple deeply interested is same-sex. Though they can sometimes feel perplexing, questions are natural and should be dealt with as graciously as achievable. As someone who just recently got gay-married, I can say you: Fieldng awkward queries and correcting erroneous assumptions is just part of the process.

I reference that background only to account for why “Gay Wedding Advice,” a newly released teaser sketch from Key & Peele’s fourth season (which starts Wednesday overnight on Comedy Central), stuck me as almost painfully funny. In the clip, a well-meaning member of the Johnson clan engages his family in a dialogue about their cousin Delroy, who is about to be wed … “to a man!” Entity a good faci

We’re nearly past wedding season but that didn’t stop Key & Peele last night from dropping their ‘Gay Wedding Advice’ sketch.

The main takeaway here that the family just cannot seem to grasp: a gay wedding is no different than a straight wedding. It’s the same ceremony, the same gifts, same attire, same music, same everything…nothing is different. The overarching message being that we’re all the same. Yet, this family just can’t get the message.
