EXCLUSIVE: General Hospital’s Van Hansis Talks on the Casting of Adrian Anchondo as Marco and Hopes for a “Soap Opera Romance”

This week on General Hospital, the character of Marco (Adrian Anchondo) came to Port Charles after we first met him in Miami when Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) got drunk, kissed the guy and threw up all over him. Viewers learned in story that Marco is actually the son of Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Natalia Rogers-Ramirez (Eva LaRue), and as previously has been teased, will be the new man in Lucas’ life as their romance will being to obtain flight.

Meet Marco on ‘General Hospital’: Adrian Anchondo Joins as Mysterious New Character

Daytime newcomer Adrian Anchondo has been tapped to play the shrink role of Marco on General Hospital, and will first air on Thursday, March 13.

Anchondo’s street to Port Charles began a couple of months ago, when he first auditioned to act the legal eagle and was brought to the studio four weeks later for a session with the producers. “It was very intimidating seeing all the beautiful Latino men there I was going up against, all younger,” he quips. “But I really linked with the personality, and I experience like I’ve been playing a lot of good guys going bad or bad guys going good, so I think this personality is in my wheelhouse.”

The actor screen-tested with Van Hansis, who joined the show in October 2024 as Lucas Jones, but the two had crossed paths in the past. “Van and I met each other at Williamstown Theater Festival 20 years ago,” Anchondo relays. “I deliberate we did a play with each other. It’s comical because I retain having a short-lived crush on him back then, and we’ve been in the same circles because we acquire mutual friends. So, I felt totally comfortable. Va

Adrian Anchondo Joins the Cast of General Hospital

With all the reports and speculation bubbling to the surface on just who One Life to Live icon, Erika Slezak (ex-Viki) will be playing when she debuts on General Hospital, today’s July 22nd cliffhanger may have provided a indication to the affirmative answer.

At the end of the episode, Martin (Michael E. Knight) comes upon a letter underneath a chair at Drew’s (Camerron Mathison) that has crayon scribbling all over it mailed to Monica Quartermaine. Martin shows it to Drew, who said Amelia and Wiley must have taken it from the Quartermaines without knowing it, and he can just toss the letter.

After Drew exits, the ever-snooping Martin decides to accept out the letter inside the already opened envelope which has scribbling on one side and a written letter on the other. Martin begins to browse it, “Dear Monica, I’m sorry that you are ill. I know that it’s been a long time …..”  After that, the legal eagle looks shocked! What did the rest of the letter say?
